5 Minute Cheese Pizza in the XO 40” Wood Fired Pizza Oven
You can’t go wrong with making pizza on the XO 40” Wood Fired Pizza Oven. We are going to show you a classic cheese pizza in just 5 minutes in your XO pizza oven, or any pizza oven you want to use.
Preheat your pizza oven to 850 degrees. Then start by stretching your pizza dough with your knuckles so it doesn’t tear apart. If you find that it is sticking to your surface, then try and sprinkle some flour on your dough so it sticks less. Make sure not to overwork your dough, since this can cause it to thin and break apart.
You can really do any kind of pizza you want in minutes, but we will just show you a plain cheese pizza. We will add tomato sauce with ¼ teaspoon of Italian and ¼ teaspoon of garlic seasoning. We’ll just use mozzarella cheese on top, to keep it simple.
There are two types of peels you’ll be using for this; one is the bigger rectangular peel that is used to pick up and place the pizza in and out of the oven. Then there is a small round turner peel. This will just make it incredibly easy to rotate your pizza, so it cooks on all sides.
It might be tricky to get the pizza on the peel when it’s not cooked, and it might take a bit of practice slipping this onto the peel. Once you place your pizza in, it will only take a few seconds before the crust starts to form and bubble up. You’ll want to turn your pizza, so all sides of the dough get cooked. If you need to slide this to the back so your cheese and toppings cook, that will help those cook faster.

- ½ lb pizza dough
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- Flour as needed
Method:
- Preheat oven to 800 to 850 degrees
- Stretch dough with knuckles until round and flat; flour as needed
- Top with sauce and cheese
- Place on pizza peel and then place into oven
- Rotate pizza every 30 to 45 seconds so all sides are evenly cooked
- Cook until crust and dough is golden brown, and cheese is melted
