Whirlpool and Sears have been in a symbiotic relationship for over a hundred years, but that all ended after a pricing dispute between the two companies. What does this mean for you as a consumer?
If looking for options, Sears does not have available a large majority of available appliances. Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, and Amana are an extremely large market group of appliances and not having them as an option is doing you no favors considering the exciting new product they have set to launch, on top of the reliable and great appliances able to select now. Sears currently does offer service and parts for the brands, but how much longer will that last? Will they be able to service the appliances and get the help you might need for your appliances? It’s a very large unknown in an increasingly growing market where service on appliances is almost an inevitability now. Coming from someone who worked at Sears for over three years, I can say there has been a large slide down in the quality and availability of their service, once known as the best in the country. Going from that to a retailer like Dons Appliances that can not only provide all the major brands that one might consider and have the ability to not only service those brands when needed, but also give the customers the best experience possible during what might be the worst time of their day is a huge boon to have.
