When trying to select the future of your plumbing fixtures, there are multiple things to consider. Creating a rhythm with plumbetry is a skill set or an art. To some, it may just be about conformity, while others may be about the hottest trends and some may just want durability and functionality.
Let’s start in the kitchen, the two most purchased plumbing fixtures in the kitchen, are the kitchen sink and the kitchen faucet. With that being said there are also pot-fillers, prep-faucets, prep-sink, and disposals with an air-switch, soap dispensers, hot-water dispensers, filtered-water dispensers, sparkling-water dispensers, and most importantly the beer dispenser.
Key points for selecting a kitchen sink:
- Knowing what size cabinet it is going into
- What type of material the countertop is.
Once you have figured the key points out, then you can decide what type of sink you would like. Let’s say we have a 36-inch cabinet with quartz as our tops, our options are pretty much endless. Personally, I’m an under-mount, quartz, concrete type of finish, no divide, as big and bad as I can get it. The Elkay Quartz Classic 33 inch under mount in Greige would be a perfect pick for me. But, there are a lot of different styles and materials such as apron front, aqua divide, and high divide, D shape, stainless, fireclay, cast-iron, granite. Once you have selected a sink, pairing a faucet with your sink should be a little easier, because the two will complement each other. I personally have stainless appliances and think that my faucet should match so a brushed nickel or stainless would be perfect. Hansgrohe has a beautiful modern faucet called the Metris HighArc in the steel optic finish. This faucet would fit every bit of my fancy, with having a matching pot filler and prep sink faucet, you just can’t go wrong. But then there’s the Brizo Litze faucet with the square spout and the knurled handle in the stainless finish a beautiful industrial feel that would also look killer with my sink selection.
Now for the bathroom fixtures, whether you’re renovating the kid’s bath, updating the powder room or creating the master bath of your dreams, there are endless possibilities. From the tub to the vanity, to the throne, there are way too many decisions to make without the proper guidance of a plumbing specialist. Stopping in to our Watersource location and talking with one of our specialists is one of the best options you could make before renovating. In creating my dream master bath, I would first start with a freestanding soaker tub, the MTI 60 inch Lily to be exact. It’s MTI Sculpturestone which I love the feel of, the size is somewhat smaller than I would truly want, but the shape of the tub is so comfortable and supportive, that giving up a little bit of legroom is worth it. The tub filler I would pick is the Brizo floor mount Rook series, in the combo luxe nickel/ matte black finish. I would also do Brizo in my shower, having two functions, a shower-head, and a handheld, on slide-bar.
In choosing the vanity, I would go with the Madeli 39 inch Estates, in Studio Gray with the brushed nickel feet and hardware, I love their drawers and the way they utilize the space of every compartment. Also, utilizing Madeli for the trough sink/countertop white x-stone combination. For my lav faucet, I would use the Brizo Rook single hole, single handle in the luxe nickel/ matte black finish again. I love the water channel both the faucet and tub filler have. All of my bathroom accessories would be from the Delta series Zura in Matte Black. The main reason I went with Delta is that their matte black is going to be the same matte black as Brizo just at a little better of a price point. Brizo is Delta’s “designer” brand and I figured I could save a few bucks with my accessories, without risking matching up finishes from manufacturer to manufacturer. Last but certainly not least, the throne!!! On average you spend about 189 minutes a week on a toilet, knowing this information I want the best experience every time.
