    Jenn-Air Rise vs. Noir

    by Rob Sobek

In an industry that is being driven by innovation, Jenn-Air has begun 2019 with the largest launch in the brand’s history focused on connectivity, user customization, and breaking barriers. From the obsidian interior refrigerator and freezer columns to the stunning V2 convection wall oven, Jenn-Air is playing by their own rules when it comes to design elements while catering to today’s customer with the features and benefits they want and need. Introducing Rise and Noir, Jenn-Air is not referring to these two new products as their ‘lines’, but rather as ‘design expressions’ – offering luxury consumers the same quality product whether they are building an industrial kitchen inside their mid-century farmhouse, or installing a hyper-modern contemporary kitchen in a downtown highrise.

With the launch of Rise, Jenn-Air intends to take the professional kitchen to the next level. Sporting robust, strong reverse knurled handles and the blatant Rebel J logo adorned proudly on every unit's door, the statement this design expression makes is that it is built to perform for years to come. The professional range category has become stagnant, and with pun intended, Rise has risen to the occasion. With over 20 cooktop/oven configurations, every consumer will be able to find a range that exceeds their expectations. Griddles, Grills, steam assist ovens, Wifi connectivity, brass burners, illuminated backlit knobs, and high BTU output burners only scratch the surface of what these ranges can offer. In the under-counter refrigeration category, the power of Rise is brought to the beverage center, dual-zone wine captain, clear ice machine, and combination refrigerator drawers as well. This design expression has no intention of blending in – quite the opposite – it’s made to stand out.

On the other side of the spectrum, Noir is Jenn-Air’s full swan dive into the contemporary segment. With sleek, clean lines and a myriad of black glass, Noir’s beauty can turn a boring kitchen into a modern haven. The Noir wall ovens install flush into cabinetry, and with the straight noir handle and minimalistic design, almost fades into darker stains and finishes. Noir dishwashers and built-in refrigerator panels do not feature any black glass, so they do bring some contrast into your modern kitchen. The Noir products are an excellent addition around the new oblivion, luster electric and induction cooktops! On top of those, Jenn-Air offers such a wide range of 15” modular cooktops that any cook can create any surface they could possibly want! The 4” downdraft hob also offers versatility to the island or peninsula cook, without the glaring eyesore of a pop-up downdraft breaking their sightlines.

Additionally, Jenn-Air’s release of their limited edition “Cuts” door panels and “smoke and brass” ranges are something that has never happened in the appliance world before. Limited production runs put only so many of each unit together, and customers have the ability to go online and reserve one for themselves. The leather on the “cuts” and the smoked stainless on the ranges would surely be a jaw-dropper in any kitchen!

Jenn-Air’s attitude is that they are ‘bound by nothing’ – and with their two design expressions beginning to hit floors at Don’s Appliances, now is the time to get a head start on your new kitchen, regardless of your design preferences! Jenn-Air has pushed the envelope in the luxury appliance category, and the customer is going to be the one who gains the most from it!
