Refrigerator and freezer columns are the hottest appliance on the market right now. Columns allow you to put them side-by-side or separate them with cabinets or other appliances in between. Many people prefer to have their refrigerator and freezer separated because it allows you to have more creativity when designing your kitchen. Jenn-Air now has Obsidian Interior columns that will be available fall of 2018.
When opening the Jenn-Air columns, the first thing you will notice is the dark obsidian interior. This was inspired by volcanic glass. The dark interior gives it a hot luxury look. Next, you will notice the LED lighting. There are over 650 LED's that frame each column. This gives the column a more dramatic look with the lighting around it. The refrigerator columns have three sensors to control the cooling. This is running every second to help control the temperatures and humidity. The freezer column has two sensors. This is also running every second to secure freshness in each zone.
The inside bins are made out of pure metal. Jenn-Air wanted to offer a heavy, durable bin that will not break. They did not consider plastic to be a luxury look so they excluded all plastic inside the columns. The inside shelves are made from thick, odor-resistant solid glass. These shelves extend to the edge of the column so if there is a spill it will not leak to the other shelves. Also, the control panel is at waist level rather than the top. This gives you easier access to control the zones to your desire. There are three different sizes that are offered for the freezer and refrigerator. You can choose from 18’’, 24", and 30” for the freezer column and 24”, 30”, and 36” for the refrigerator. These columns are available panel ready, or you have an option to buy stainless panels for them. If you decide to go with the stainless panels, you have two handles to choose from: a pro-style handle, which is a pro-commercial-looking handle and the euro-handle, which is a softer curved handle. A new handle, Rise, will be available late 2018.
