What's the Best Method of Cooking? Induction is Hands Down Bob's Favorite!

by Bob Kardos

How do you cook? With gas? Electric? Ha! Trick question. You cook with pots and pans. Now how you get your pots and pans hot is entirely up to you, but the fastest, safest and most responsive way to cook is with Induction. My personal favorite is the Bosch induction cooktop.

What is Induction? Induction is very similar in appearance to a regular smooth top electric cooktop. What makes it different from a regular electric cooktop, is that although it is also powered by electricity, instead of generating heat, induction creates magnetic waves that cause pots and pans (specifically pots and pans that a magnet would stick to) to instantly start heating up. Up to 90 percent of the energy produced by an induction cooktop goes directly to the pans. What makes it better than both gas and electric is that it heats up much faster and is a lot safer to use. Just how fast does it heat? I can easily boil 2 cups of water in less than 90 seconds (try that on your gas cooktop). Induction cooktops are so safe that they will not activate until it senses a 4" in diameter (or larger) metal surface. Another focal point distinct to the induction cooktop is how quickly it can cool down due to generating heat differently.

So what's the one feature that Induction has that makes it a must? Convenience. It heats up faster, allowing me to prepare food quicker. It cools down faster so food doesn't have a chance to burn and stick to the cooking surface. In fact, that's probably the nicest feature about induction: cleanup is an absolute breeze. In less than a minute I can have greasiest, gunkiest cooking surface looking spotless. So spend more time with family and friends and less time cooking and cleaning. Buy an induction cooktop or range! I promise you will not be disappointed.
