Slide in Ranges
These ranges have the control panel and knobs up at the front. Not having the back of the range gives your kitchen a move seamless and cleaner look. If you plan to put a backsplash up, a slide in range would be best. There needs to be cabinets on both sides since it has unfinished sides. Slide in ranges are to look like they are built in between the cabinets. The CGS986SELSS ($2,699.99) is a 30” slide in range with a warming drawer. This range has WiFi connect built in, convection, and a 5.6 cu. Ft oven. The warming drawer will allow you to put your food in it as a keep warm option so you don’t have to worry about your food getting cold. Also, this range has six edge to edge burners with an interchangeable griddle. Not only are you paying more for the design, but they do have more features than a basic freestanding.
Overall, the real big difference between the two is the placement of the control panel and price. If you plan on doing a built in design with a backsplash, a slide in range is the way to go. If you do not have cabinetry work around the range, a freestanding will fit perfectly in your kitchen. No matter which style of range you choose, you are still getting a great appliance. It just depends on the features and look that you want in the kitchen.
