Common Questions Asked When Shopping For Appliances

    by Kayla Kraus

When deciding to remodel your kitchen or want to upgrade your appliances, thinking about all of the options to consider can become very overwhelming. Here are some of the most common questions we get asked when a customer comes in to purchase new appliances.

Do I have to measure? What do I have to measure?

Yes, it is recommended that you measure the space for your new appliance to make sure that the new one will fit. For a refrigerator, you must measure from the floor to the bottom of the cabinets (if any) and the total width of the space. For a wall oven or any other built-in appliance, it is important to measure the existing cutout in addition to the actual unit. Lastly, it is also important to measure the doorways that will be in the path of where the appliance is going. This will make sure that we can get the new unit in without any damage to the walls or the new appliance.

What is the difference between counter depth and full depth refrigerators?

A standard depth refrigerator will be about 6 inches deeper than a counter depth refrigerator. When installed, only the doors will stick out on a counter depth refrigerator, giving it more of a built-in look.

Do you haul away the old appliances? And if so, is there an extra fee?

Yes, we can haul away your old appliances. There is a removal & disposal fee, which varies based on appliance type. This fee covers our team responsibly disposing of your old appliance and any recovery & reclamation of refrigerant based on EPA recommendations.

How long do new appliances last?

A lot can depend on the manufacturer but on average, a new appliance should last between 8 and 12 years.

Do all of my appliances have to match?

Not at all! It is completely up to you if they match. One thing to keep in mind is that some manufacturers will offer rebates when multiple appliances are purchased from the same brand.
