Milwaukee-based company, U-Line, is in its 50th year of manufacturing under counter refrigerators, wine coolers, and ice makers. Like Sub-Zero, U-Line has produced a better wine cooler available in many models and at different price points; the 2275 is, in my opinion, their best unit. As a U-Line customer I have nothing but great things to say about this company— from the fashionable aesthetics to their customer service, U-Line is the only brand I rely on to keep my reds at the perfect, 55-degree temperature.
U-Line has a very reasonable price point for their product considering the competition. Some of their competitors are Sub-Zero, Marvel, and Perlick. These brands will typically live at a higher price because of their name, but at the end of the day it is still satisfying the same objective— to keep the beverages at a desired temperature and avoid its biggest enemy— oxidization. U-Line offers a variety of units that range from 15” wide up to 36” wide. They are set in 3 separate classes between the 1000-, 2000-, and 3000-series ranging from $1700 to $5000 in price. When shopping for a wine unit you will see options of single-zone or dual-zone. This means for red wine lovers, like myself, you can set the entire single zone unit to the perfect temperature for the way you love it. Share space with a rose or white wine enthusiast? With a dual-zone unit reds and whites can be stored at different temperatures.
Any wine enthusiast knows that it's not only the grapes, tannins, oxygen and alcohol that make for a desirable blend, it's also the way it is stored over time. Good wine is important to me for hosting dinners, wine nights and simply for my own enjoyment! If it's important to you, too, please stop into our Baum location so I can show you all that U-Line has to offer!
