Don’s Appliances has pledged to support the Habitat Pittsburgh ReStore through appliance donations after its 80-day closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Don’s Appliances and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh, upon resuming business operations after mandated shutdowns, have teamed up for Habitat Pittsburgh’s ReStore “Post COVID-19 Reopening” in Swissvale on Saturday, June 20th at 1:00 pm.
From June 5th until June 19th, Don’s Appliances will launch part two of its “Don’s Great Giveback” campaign where the cost of delivery and installation will be waived for all purchases that include a refrigerator and/or freezer. Don’s Appliances will remove the old appliances at no charge. All working refrigerators and freezers will be donated to the Habitat Pittsburgh ReStore and the proceeds will benefit Habitat Pittsburgh’s affordable homeownership and home repair programs for limited-income families throughout Allegheny County.
Don’s Appliances committed to supporting local non-profit partners amid the pandemic with “Don’s Great Giveback” and has chosen Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh as the beneficiary of part two of the campaign. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh and Don’s Appliances have worked together on several programs and promotions recently and are coming together again to ensure Habitat Pittsburgh’s ReStore has the core products it needs to sell at discounted prices to families who shop there.
Dr. Howard B. Slaughter, Jr., President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh said, “The worth of the donations from Don’s Appliances is indicative of a partnership that’s truly transformative and impactful for families who rely on quality appliances for their homes at extremely reasonable prices. The financial support from the sale of the appliances also increases Habitat Pittsburgh’s efforts to build and repair more homes for families in need of quality and affordable homeownership throughout the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.”
