Jenn-Air is best known for its innovation of the downdraft range in the 1960’s, however, with the name now being backed by Whirlpool, they are a strong contender in the pro range market. Jenn-Air pro ranges offer some of the most innovative technology, examples being a 20,000 BTU power burner, and a 7 inch LED touch screen. Jenn-Air ranges are an excellent choice for millennial consumers due to their technology, innovation, and value. With a two year full warranty right out of the box (and a third year if Don’s Appliances installs the unit), you have one of the best warranties you will find on a pro range. In addition to this, they offer an excellent rebate program by offering consumers a $1,300 rebate towards a second Jenn-Air appliance (with the purchase of a pro range), helping the consumer piece together their dream kitchen.

Creators of the first residential pro range in the 1980’s, Viking has become a household name amongst consumers when it comes to pro cooking. Viking is best known for its performance, commercial look, with robust knob controls as opposed to a touch screen. Much like Jenn-Air, Viking backs its products with a three year full warranty. Viking appliances have also been featured on the set of ABC’s popular daytime cooking program, The Chew. With a higher price point than Jenn-Air, Viking is geared towards the serious cook, or one that enjoys cooking as a hobby.

While both brands offer high quality professional cooking and excellent warranties, they offer different price points geared towards different consumers. Viking was the first to introduce residential pro ranges to consumers; however, with Whirlpool now backing the Jenn-Air name, they have grown in popularity and are a great option for the pro range customer.
