Is It Easy to Cook Sausage in Your Gozney Dome?
Let’s fire up some bratwursts on a cast iron in the Gozney Dome 29” Bone Outdoor Oven. Make a sandwich or just serve them with some barbeque sauce. We are going to show you how to get juicy and flavor packed fire roasted bratwurst. We started by preheating our oven and cast iron to 900 degrees. We placed some logs of wood on the right side for true fire roasted flavor.
You can split the bratwurst down the center and lay them flat for an even sear. Or cook them as is if you prefer. We’ll place these right in our cast iron pan, and with the temperature being so high these only take 3 – 4 minutes.
The Gozney Dome is a great option for any style of cooking or baking you want. You can make multiple pizzas in here, you could barbeque a rack of ribs, you could fire roast vegetables, or even bake some bread and cookies in this. The possibilities are endless with the capability to control the amount of heat on the inside of this oven.
Even when you’re using a cast iron skillet you have unlimited cooking potential. You can cook pork chops, steaks, or even bacon and eggs to go along with your bratwurst. Once you see the edges of your bratwurst start to curl up this is a good indication that they’re close to being full cooked.
This is like campfire cooking on your deck at home. You will have to monitor your heat by stoking and maintaining the wood. Thankfully you can get a direct read of your internal temperature on the digital display on the outside of the dome. Cook times could vary on your heat management, or how thick your bratwursts are.
Once we get a great roast on these, pull them out and serve them just as is or with sauce. You can make a bratwurst sandwich or serve them with your breakfast.
