How To Make Candied Bacon | Sweet & Salty

Today we are excited to bring you our secret recipe for candied bacon done in convection. We’ll be using the LG 48" Pro Style Dual Fuel Range Stainless Steel oven.

How To Make Candied Bacon Sweet & Salty

To help with cleanup, line your tray with tin foil. A key to achieving an even cook is to raise your bacon up on a rack. This will ensure that every side is crispy, and the flavors incorporate throughout all the slices.

Start by crumbling ¼ cup of brown sugar on top of our bacon. Then add 2 tablespoons of Montreal steak seasoning and 2 tablespoons of any barbeque rub seasoning. To top it off drizzle soy sauce and honey.

We already preheated the oven set to convection bake at 375 degrees. Depending on how thick your bacon is, this could take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. After taking the bacon out of the oven, add 2 more tablespoons of the barbeque rub seasoning on top.

How To Make Candied Bacon Sweet & Salty

The flavors in this will be a mixture of sweet, salty, and a kick of spice. If you want to eat it alone, totally fine; but you can also add this on top of your burger, on top of chicken, or in a salad.

Just some suggestions, but feel free to eat a bowl of bacon, just like I did after making this.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb thick cut bacon
  • ¼ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons barbeque rub

Optional:

  • 2 tablespoons of barbeque rub on top

Method:

  1. Preheat convection oven to 375 degrees
  2. Crumble brown sugar, barbeque rub, and Montreal steak seasoning on top of bacon
  3. Drizzle honey and soy sauce on bacon
  4. Bake for 15 – 20 minutes or until it reaches desired crispiness
