/>With the invention of the Keurig and the rise of Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, “convenience” coffee is at the fingertips of every consumer. However, there is still a certain clientele looking for a higher-end, higher-quality coffee for their everyday needs. Most coffee makers on the major appliance spectrum are sourced from the same manufacturer, whereas these two competitors build their own in house.
Miele offers far more model options. Two different display panel options (Direct-Select versus the more “android” interface, M Touch), multiple color options (obsidian, truffle brown, brilliant white, and stainless), and different water source options (reservoir tank or plumbed). The Miele units can range anywhere from $2,999 to $3,799, and have a very modern, European look and feel. All their machines are pre-programmed with drink options. It can take ground coffee or whole beans, and the grinder discs in the Miele’s are made of stainless steel. The Miele units will also notify you as to when routine maintenance and cleaning needs to happen.
The Bosch was released in 2017, and boasts a far more tech-savvy approach to the built-in coffee appliance. Unlike Miele, they offer one model, in one finish (Stainless Steel), only available with a reservoir tank water system at $2,789. Bosch uses ceramic grinding discs, as they do not heat up after multiple uses like stainless steel discs would. Bosch offers the use of ground and whole bean coffee like the Miele. When it comes to technology, the Bosch is loaded up! It’s wi-fi enabled so you can brew your morning joe from bed, create coffee playlists at your gathering, and upload new drinks into the interface. It has a MyFavorites menu where you can save 8 specific drinks, along with their specific temperatures, fluid ounces, and other custom settings. The Bosch also notifies of cleanings that are needed to upkeep the machine, along with remote diagnostics through the wi-fi capabilities if the machine ever malfunctions.
If you love a good cup of coffee, come into any Don’s Appliances showroom and we’ll brew you a cup to try and pick which one fits your taste!
