Piece of Junk
Third microwave bites the dust--this time in 2.5 years. I am disgusted to be dealing with this again and to be without a microwave. KitchenAid knowingly sells junk for the landfill. Clearly, from reading reviews, this microwave is a problem, so why is it still available for sale?

Terrible
After reading all the reviews here...I need to give my review about this microwave. So other than the loud slamming of the door. Now the humming noise. Less than 3yrs old.

So far works fine, but.....
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The original KithcenAid microwave that was built-in our kitchen 24 years ago was repaired once, about 2 years ago. Then the door wouldn't open, and the repair guy said the part to fix it, is no longer available. We searched the internet and none was found. SO the only reason we chose this one, is becasue of the dimensions and we wanted to match our other kitchen appliances. It works fine so far, but it's the same "push button" door mechanism and we are keeping our fingers crossed. The front face of the microwave definitely looks cheaper than the old one. Shows finger prints, and just doesn't feel as sturdy. We shall we,,,,,

No…I am not happy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had an awesome Kitchen Aid microwave that lasted fifteen years…loved it. So, I took the information from that old one to my local supplier, Buddy’s Appliance, told the salesman that I wanted a new one that was the same size and came as close to my old one they could get (as they had no Kitchen Aid microwaves in stock). The above model is what they ordered. As the interior is so much smaller, my casserole dishes don’t fit, the instruction manual is difficult to understand and the operating functions went from being simple (my old one) to complex. I suppose I should blame the salesman for my disappointment……but, also…Kitchen Aid took an excellent product (my original model) and turned it into a big hassle to use.

Died at barely 3 years!
Beyond disappointing, first the display started to go and we were doing a good job guessing then it arked when I was warming up butter in a glass Pyrex measuring cup and it melted the inside and now I guess the magnetron is out. It’s pretty bad that companies are making such throwaway products now, I’ve never even had to replace a microwave before, the ones that came with all my houses from the 80’s/90’s still worked. I build a new house and I’m replacing appliances already??? Way to kill customer retention and the environment in one fell swoop.

Nice but disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice looking microwave a little disappointed in craftsmanship as the door doesn’t hang straight. For the price you would think KitchenAid could have better quality control on this.

Glorified clock
Microwave crapped out after 3 years and will not work. At this point its a glorified clock

Great features. Easy installations.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Microwave and trim kit were as advertised. Really like the microwave and its features.

Satisfied with purchase
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Microwave cooks well, but I agree with other reviews that the door is near impossible to see through to monitor cooking. Controls take a little getting used to but work smoothly. Overall a good value. I bought it with the trim kit to install in a cabinet. Trim kit was easy to install and looks good. Just be aware that when installing bottom plate, supplied screws will probably go through the bottom of the cabinet. I had enough space to shim the plate to avoid this after the first went through the bottom of the cabinet.

Nice unit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace a built-in unit that quit working. It works great, but would rather be able to input the cook time manually. We didn't use most of the features on the previous one, and probably won't with this one, either. It is an attractive oven, and looks great with the trim kit to make it built into the cabinet above our oven.

Seems well constructed!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I expected Kitchenaid would provide an above average appliance! You have exceeded my expectations I I have decided to replace ALL my kitchen appliances with Kitchenaid!

Size is the only reason we bought this.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was purchased to replace a similar model that was 12 years old and making lots of noise. The depth and size were the reason we bought this so it could be in the same cabinet with a trim kit. It is not intuitive to use and requires patience to set the timer. There is no "keypad" to enter 35 seconds, just "3 min" "6 min" keys.
