    What's a Steam Oven?

Bosch vs. Miele Built-in Coffee Machines

Steam ovens are popular among cooks who have special interest in preparing healthy meals. The heat from the oven turns the water into steam, so the food cooked in steam retains moisture better than food cooked in standard convection ovens. Steamed food, like vegetables, also tends to retain more vitamins than food that is baked or boiled.

The convection inside the steam oven uses the fan to propel heat around the inside of the oven, and while the circulating heat speeds up the oven time and provides an evenly cooked meal. This ensures that your meal is cooked quickly and evenly. When you bring both the steam and convection together, you're able to get the best cooking results and the best of both worlds with the two cooking styles. Some of our favorite recipes with convection steam are bacon, cheesecake and ribs!

Also, reheating meals has never been so easy or nutritious. Unlike a microwave where it uses the moisture in the food to heat the food, the steam is being brought back into the food to ensure the flavor and moisture is locked back in. Making even leftovers from 2 nights ago, taste just like it did the night you made it. You also can defrost using just the steam function. Using a microwave to defrost meat also tends to cook the outside of the meat leaving it dry. But, using steam allows the meat to defrost properly without cooking any parts of the meat.
