Back in early 2018, Thermador revealed their brand new style launch at the 2018 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show. Beatriz Sandoval posted in the online Thermador blog, “This year we’re taking things up a notch by embarking on an incredible journey to unveil more than 300 groundbreaking new products and build a personal connection with our consumers in a way like never-before”! Their new style offers a modern and professional twist on some of their most loved appliances, along with some brand new SKUs to their overall line.For years, Thermador has always had two series to differentiate between when selecting which style was right for you, Masterpiece and Professional. With the new models and products being released, those series have remained. But, now with so much more to offer.
The new Masterpiece collection is a sleek modern-contemporary look that can add both style and functionality to any kitchen. Throughout the series you will find the sleek tubular handle and grey glass accents to multiple different products. Their collection offers cooktops, wall ovens (single or double), dishwashers, built in microwaves, and even a steam oven throughout this brand new Masterpiece collection.
The Professional collection is a bolder style that gives a twist on the traditional commercial look. The handle is a straight thicker more robust handle that is sure to make a statement! Throughout the series you will find more knobs and stainless steel. This series is geared toward customers who are looking for that restaurant commercial without sacrificing style. Their collection offers rangetops, wall ovens (single or double), dishwashers, built in microwaves and a steam oven.
Throughout their entire appliance line, the Thermador wall ovens have the most distinct differences when it comes to the Masterpiece and Professional series.
The Masterpiece series has a touch control panel that is used to select the cooking mode, as well as, the temperature desired. It works similar to a touch screen phone. The panel remains the same in both the single and double wall oven. Panel Selections: On/Off, light, timers, menu, fast preheat, info, lock and start/stop. The handle style for the Masterpiece series is a straight rounded tubular handle.
The Professional series has the same touch control panel as the Masterpiece series, but adds the commercial touch with the knobs. The knobs are used to select the cooking mode and temperature desired. The touch control panel is used to confirm the selections made. On a single wall oven, there are two knobs, and on the double there are four knobs. The overall look, has more a stainless frame around the unit. And, is essentially more of a commercial “professional” look. Panel Selections: Light, timers, settings, fast preheat, info and lock.
Bosch, the sister company to Thermador, released their side swing oven doors a couple years ago. Now, Thermador is officially offering the side swing oven door in both collections! This is a complete game changer. The convenience of being able to pull out a 25 pound turkey right in front of you, versus having to maneuver over the oven door, makes this design a no brainer! The option is available in single or double wall ovens, and can be hinged on either the right or left depending on your kitchen design.
The dishwashers come in both the Masterpiece and Professional style to match whichever collection you choose for your kitchen. Whether you choose the Emerald, Topaz, Sapphire and Star Sapphire dishwasher, you can get either series to match the rest of the kitchen suite without sacrificing features that one could have over the other.
Another big difference between the two lines is not just the style, but the price point. The Masterpiece series is more of an entry level price point. Where the Professional series is considered the higher end price point in their brand. Before the new style launch, Thermador didn’t offer as many features on the Masterpiece series as they did on the Professional. If a customer wanted a rotisserie, they only had the option to go with a Professional wall oven. Now, the customer has complete control to pick which style is right for them without feeling like they are downgrading by any means. This opens up a bigger target audience and clientele.
