    The BEST Cuban Sandwich | Sous Vide & Seared Pork

    We’re going to walk you though how to get a tender and delicious Cuban sandwich, Chef Anthony, and Don’s Appliances style. We’ll be making our pork loin in the LG Signature 48” Pro Style Dual Fuel Range Stainless Steel sous vide system, and then searing it on our Thermador grill cooktop.

    To season this pork loin, add 1 tablespoon of salt and pepper. Then add 1 tablespoon of spicy Dijon mustard and spread it across the top of the loin. If you want this spicier, add 1 tablespoon of hot sauce as well. Then add 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic and spread that on top with the sauces. Put this into a vacuum seal bag to prep it for the sous vide system. We have one white onion that we’ll just going to chop up and add to the bag as well. Also put 3 stocks of fresh parsley in the bag to add depth to the flavors.

    Once we seal the bag, this is ready to go into the sous vide system on our Signature Kitchen Suite. Set the temperature to 170 degrees, and this will take about 30 to 60 minutes depending on how much you want to build the flavors.

    Pulling this out of the sous vide, we realized we wanted to sear this for some caramelization on the outside. So, we took the pork, onions, and bun over to the Thermador 48” grill cooktop. We have the griddle preheated on high before adding in the parts of the sandwich. We’re just going to cook these out some more so we can get caramelization on the pork and onions and toast our bun. Only cook these for about 3 – 5 minutes until they are golden brown.

    After I brown my ingredients out, we are ready to make my sandwich. Add about 3 tablespoons of mustard to the bun. We have some sliced deli ham that we will just shingle on the bottom of the bun. Then add some slices of Swiss cheese. Take your pork loin and cut it into slices before adding it to the sandwich. It turned out wonderfully, juicy and tender with just the right about of spice. To top this sandwich off, add the onions and of course more cheese. We added some bread and butter pickles to the top to add a kick of tangy and sweet flavors.

    • 1lb pork loin
