Quick & EASY Steamed Shrimp in 3 Minutes
We are going to show you how to steam shrimp in just 3 minutes in your steam oven.
Preheat your steam oven to 212 degrees on full steam. Every steam oven model will come with a solid pan and a perforated pan which goes on top of the solid tray. The solid tray catches any drippings, while the perforated pan allows for the air and steam to reach the bottom of what you’re cooking. We are using 21/25 peeled and deveined shrimp. What does the 21/25 mean? This just means how many shrimp you will be getting per pound. So, the smaller the shrimp, the more you’d get per pound and less per pound for the bigger shrimp.
You know at Don’s Appliances we wouldn’t give you just plain shrimp. So, we are going to place parsley down as a base on the tray. Cut up a few slices of lemon and lime and place these on top of the parsley. The citrus will complement the flavor of the shrimp and build the depth of the flavors.
Place your shrimp on top of the lemon and lime, and season them with 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper. These are now ready to go to the steam oven. This will take just 3 minutes, so don’t go far.
These are tender shrimp, that really held that pink color and absorbed the citrus flavors. Try this out in your steam oven.
Ingredients:
- ½ lb shrimp
- ½ bunch parsley
- 3 slices lemon
- 3 slices lime
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
Method:
- Preheat steam oven on full steam at 212 degrees
- Place solid pan under perforated pan
- Place parsley down on perforated tray
- Place lemon and lime on top of parsley
- Place shrimp on top of lemon and lime
- Season with salt and pepper
- Cook in steam oven for 3 minutes
