Boiling Asparagus in Under 3 Minutes on Induction
Boiling is a quick and easy method for cooking asparagus. We’re using the Wolf 15" Stainless Steel Transitional Induction Cooktop which we preheat on 80%. How induction works is it has two magnets that come together and create energy to heat the pans. It will only create a burner to the size of the pan, so you can safely cook.
While the water is boiling, add about teaspoon of sea salt. Also add a quarter teaspoon of olive oil to the water before adding the asparagus. It takes about 90 seconds for the water to boil. Which is faster than any other cooking surface. After adding the asparagus, it will take roughly three minutes to cook entirely.
Once finished, you can put these right into an ice bath to shock them which retains nutrients and preserves them.
Ingredients:
- 12-15 Asparagus (1 bunch snipped)
- 1 Teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon olive oil
Optional:
- 1/4 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
Instructions:
- Bring 2 - 3 cups of water to a boil on your cooktop
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of olive oil to the water
- Add asparagus to water
- After 3 – 5 minutes the asparagus should be fully cooked
