It’s time to shop for new appliances but often times you're unsure where to start and what to ask. We’re providing you with questions you should ask next time you’re shopping for new appliances.
1. When can I get the appliances?
It’s no secret appliance availability isn’t what it used to be. It is extremely important to ask when the appliance will be available, especially if the associate has not brought up the expected time frame. It is common for the associate to answer anywhere from 20-30 weeks. Yes, you read that correctly, weeks.
2. Are there any incentives if I go with all of the same brand?
This is a great question! It gives the sales associate the opportunity to present you with the different promotions each of the brands offer.
3. What would you, as a sales associate, recommend?
Asking one of our sales associates is an insightful way to get an idea of our recommendations. We can break down why we chose what we chose. And trust me, we all have our dream kitchen in mind! Ours have changed 12 different times.
4. What do you sell the most of?
This is a great question for anything you’re looking for - washer, dryer, range, refrigerator, etc. It’s a good way to gauge what is popular. From there, you can always ask about customer satisfaction.
5. Do you install? Do you deliver? Do you haul away?
Knowing the procedures will help you prepare for your new appliance. And, luckily Don’s does it all! Local deliveries are $69.99 and our Zone 2 deliveries are $89.99. The delivery fee does include hauling away the old unit. Depending on the product, there could be an additional installation fee (i.e. dishwasher, over the range microwave).
6. Are there any appliances that are made in America?
Whirlpool laundry for example is made in Clyde and Marion, Ohio. And BlueStar ranges are made right in Reading, PA! Your sales associate can highlight what appliances are made right here in the USA for an extra piece of mind when you’re choosing which appliance is right for you.
7. What are the new trends?
Trends are always changing and the appliance industry does a great job keeping up with the trends. Right now, many brands offer an “Air Fry” function in their range! Instead of adding another appliance on your counter, it is built in right in the oven. There are so many other trends, and your sales associate will be able to highlight everything new and trendy!
8. Why Don’s?
This is one of our favorite questions we get as a sales associate. Each of our answers are different, but one thing remains the same - we are a locally owned and operated business founded in 1971 right here in Pittsburgh. We have 10 locations, our own delivery/install and service team. We are always ready to help you!
